Home Again

We had a fabulous time on our vacation.
We rented a cabin in the woods

Vacation Cabin

that had some funky, eclectic furniture in the screen room.
I thought it was way too cool to remain indoors,
so out it came.

Cabin Corner

First, I spruced up this little corner.

Ta-da!

Wood Pile

Second, this wood pile.

Ahh, much nicer.

Cabin Doorway

And, of course, this doorway was simply too plain.

Sure, technically my improvement rendered the door useless,
but isn't it better to look marvelous than to be useful.?

Dreaded Scary Doors
And, finally, these dreaded doors.
They were in the side of a hill near the cabin and
led down some rickety steps to another creepy set of doors.
We never went down the steps or tried to open the other doors
but, I ask you, how's a suburban girl supposed to fall asleep
knowing these Hannibal Lecter doors are right outside her window?

There was only one solution:

Spruced Up Scary Doors
Swank the place up so it looks like a corner
your Grandma would knit in.
Nothing scary about Grandma knitting now, is there?
Nope, didn't think so.

Nothing scary about me spending my vacation
doing this weird stuff either, is there?
Nope, didn't think so.
