The Crook of A Tree

While feeding the birds today,
I noticed some tiny red lines
in the bark of our maple tree:

I went to look a little closer:

Berries in Tree Bark Land Art

Berries stuck in the cracks of the tree bark,
how odd!
I decided to walk around and check out the rest of the tree:

Toadstools in Tree

What's that white stuff up in the crook?

Toadstools in Tree

Toadstools way up in a tree?
That could only mean one thing:

Toadstool Fairy Village Land Art

Yes, a new fairy village!

It hadn't occurred to me before discovering this,
but fairies would obviously need to seek
higher ground before snow started accumulating.
Looks like they're stocking up
on berry food, too.

Gee, you just never know
what you'll find in your own backyard.

Trees with eyes, naked trees, fairy-inhabited trees....interesting stuff going on with your trees up there. We just have boring, do nothing trees down here, it's kind of embarrassing.
